one of the hazards of a mailorder business is dealing with scams. it happens to every one, is unavoidable, some people just deal with it but some (like us) get real angry about it and take action. why are we telling you this?

well, we’re usually on top of our game and swat fake orders away like a monkey swatting flies but recently one got by us...sort of. the funny thing is that we got the order and checked the credit card address but found out that the card wasn’t issued to the address that the customer gave us but he wanted to come into our shop to pick up the products and we figured he couldn’t be that dumb, right? to use a stolen credit card then wait a couple days, thus giving us time to find out it was a sham then actually show up in person to pick up the stuff? well, he did and even signed for the package using his real name (which we will be polite enough to not give out). within twenty four hours we were contacted by the real credit card holder telling us that he didn’t know anything about it and had told his bank to not pay us. obviously we were pissed and took action to track down the guy that had scammed us and about a day later we not only had found out who it was but had convinced him to come back for more stuff. we called the police, told them the story and had them on stand by when the thief was coming for the second round. long story short: we got our stuff back and the clown that thought we could get away with it found himself cuffed, stuffed and in the slam for a while. maybe some of you don’t realize it but when you scam a business it’s not the giant banks that get screwed, it’s the place that accepted the credit card, in this case it would have been us. if you guys really care about BMX why would you want to fuck with a place that supports it? we’re not rich nor are we ever going to be, we’re in this indusry because we like it, not for the money. no one in the BMX industry is making millions of dollars...well except maybe Dan Duckworth.
