$1000 a plate dinner!

So Mat Sparks, Dane Wild and myself got invited to do a show at some big fancy fundraiser dinner the other night.  It cost each person a $1000 or something like that to get in.

The fundraiser was called the "Hob Nobble Gobble" and the idea was to raise money for the Thanksgiving Day Parade company here in Detroit.  The shindig went down at the Joe Dumars Field House at the Michigan State Fairgrounds and our "street course" was set up on a super fancy basketball court and we were told to NOT hurt the floor or it will cost at least $5000 to fix. We did our best.  Below are some photos for the event.

They told us not to hurt the floor but they never said anything about the backboards!  Sparks pulled this a few times before they told us to not do it anymore.  Not sure why they made us stop.  Sparks was in control and it didn't hurt the backboard at all.

At the other end of the joint they had a mini ramp set up for us.  It was 4' tall, the flat was 4' off the ground, it was metal, it was FAST, and it was 15' away from a carnival. Here is Sparks being the best "carney" he can be.

After the shows Dane had to sign autographs and pick up myspace girls.  Dane had to let these ones go though as they were a little young and he will be 18 on 11/27/05.  This means that the next Albe's Road Trip we won't have to lie about his age to get him into skateparks.

Santa showed up and wanted his photo shot with Dane and I.

Well overall the shows were pretty fun.  Not to sure we were high-class enough to be invited back next time though.
