some news as of 6/12/03

Not a ton of stuff to report as we have been darn busy but i'll give you the highlights in run giant run on paragraph.

Albe's own Jason Suchan has Moved out of his parents house and into and apartment with his girlfriend Kris10 and the city forced him to tear down his backyard skatepark at his parents house. Suchan has also started towork FULL TIME at UPS as a driver. Albe's team rider "e;Sexy Stevie Jessome"e; sold his jeep and bought an Audi A4. there is enough room for one bike to fit which means Jimmy (the Sausage) will have to get a car / license. We (Albe's) have been doing ads in DIG Magazine for the past few months. Be sure to check them out as they feature Albe's rider Mat Sparks and other Riders we can not tell you about. Speaking of Mat Sparks the kid is blowing up... did ya see the photos of him in Ride Magazine recently doing a double tailwhip over a spine??? good lord! also at the Binghampton La Rev contest our boy Sparks did a wallride to tailwhip to head plant. Blood went everywhere and Sparks then got up and tried it again. he didn't pull it clean but did ride away. After a few stitches we were on our way back home with a nice peaceful stop in Niagara Falls. Speaking of local Albe's riders showing up in magazines check out the newest issue of "e;Looking Glass"e; magazine. There is a great photo Michigan trail ripper Beeler VanOrman . Keep eyes peeled for Beeler and his brother Teddy....they are REALLY good and will probably be pooping up in more videos and magazines in the near future. Now that the weather is getting better around here (Michigan) there has been more and more free skate parks popping up...some are even letting in bikes. There is now a free park that lets bikes in at River Bends Park off of Ryan Rd. just north of Auburn Rd. It's not like a super duper park but it's free and kinda cool. There is also a free park in Algonac Michigan. the sign says no bikes but we rode there for a few hours with out incident. Also rumor has it that the free cement park in Sarnia Canada is going to be torn down. Not too sure on the details but I would go ride it as soon as ya can because it might be the last time. In other park news Transition Ramp Park (www.trpramppark.com) is still up in running and is fun to ride. Go there andhave fun. In other other park news there is a new park 3 miles down the rd from Albe's. It opened a few months ago and wasn't going to let bikes in. After a few people begging they set up a bike night. Most bike riders didn't go there anyways because it sucked but now they have realized that roller blades isn't bringing in enough to pay the rent so they hired a bike rider to rebuild and run the park. bikes will now be allowed EVERYDAY and the park is about 3/4 rebuilt and looks very fun. Box rhythm, good 1/4 pipes, sub boxes, rails, and even a foam pit. Woo Hoo! How many little grommet kids are going to learn backflips around here now?? hahahah! Todd FromAlbes now has his right legs covered in tattoos. If you see him and talk to him be sure ask about them. Flip has beenriding a ton now that the weather has been getting better. Flip even figured it was time for a new bike for himself. he's still building it but you will see him soon sporting an compete brand new bike. Soon you will see him sporting a Kink Freebird decked out with Profile and Odyssey parts. Flip would like to thanks those companies for taking care of him. At times when we can't find Flip at the shop (Albe's) during working hours it's because he's out behind the shop in the alley doing stunts on the "e;giant onion"e; hahaha!! If you ever see or talk to Mark Losey from Ride Magazine ask him about Albe's "e;Giant Onion"e;. Speaking of Ride Magazine...one of the big wigs from Ride came to Visit Albe's and check the place out. He was so stoked on Albe's and the Albe's retail store that he even bought Todd lunch and were not sure but we think he stole Todd's wallet. The Albe's retail store is awesome. clickhereto learn more about it and see photos. In other Albe's retail store news there has been a lot of pros stopping by and working on there bikes here recently. If you come in you NEVER know who might be here or show up here. Taj was recently spotted at the Vans park in Novi Michigan a few weeks ago. Taj Stopped in Michigan to stay with his family for a week or so until the Flow / Bestwick contest where Albe's was once again represented well by Mat Sparks who did what many thought was impossible...a WALLRIDE TO FLAIR. While you are looking at the great Albe's website be sure to check out the "e;VIEWS"e; page. There is a little stint by none other than BIG MAN Micah Kranz who tells it like it is. Woodward West is up and running and Albe's sent the fellows working there 4234234523 of discount cards to hand out to campers so if you are go to Woodward West this season be sure to ask Shaun Dorton or Ron Kimler for or Albe's own Afro Pat for Albe's discount cards.
